Picture and Signature Paragraph Inserts
There are two types of paragraph inserts that will allow you to insert a picture or image file into a letter: picture inserts and signature inserts.
Picture Inserts
The picture insert is used to insert any image file into a letter. This is supported in HTML letters. The syntax of this insert is as follows: [special.picture,path-to-file]
The file can be any standard image type, such as bitmap, JPEG, or GIF.
Due to limitations of the method that is used to include the picture in prepared letters, any picture inserted in a paragraph will always show up at the bottom of the paragraph (after any text), regardless of where the insert is located within the paragraph definition. In order to get an image to appear between two blocks of text, at least two paragraphs will need to be created, with the image showing up at the end of the first block. (Or you could define three paragraphs and put the image into its own paragraph.)
The path should be a URL that points to the image file to be used.
Example:
[special.picture,http://myserver/MyWebSite/images/MyImageFile.gif]
Signature Inserts
Signature inserts allow you to customize letters by including the signature of the agent who handled the case. This insert has the following syntax: [letter.entered_by_user_code.picture]
When the system is preparing a letter, it will automatically insert the image file that corresponds to the "Entered By User Code" value on the letter (this is the user ID of the user who added the letter to the case).
Adding Signatures to the Server
Signature files can be added to the server manually or by using the File Maintenance Utility.
To manually add signatures to the server, name and locate the files as follows: [StandardLetters]/sign/[usercode].bmp
[StandardLetters]: This is the "Standard Letters" folder in the Emplifi Agent directory structure. The location may be named differently in some installations.
[usercode]: This is the agent's Emplifi Agent user ID.
To upload users' signatures using the utility, see Uploading User Signatures.
At this time, only bitmap images (.bmp files) are supported for signature inserts.
