Defining InfoCenter Entries
For information on creating new InfoCenter entries, see InfoCenter. InfoCenter entries are created as code+table. Therefore, you also have a Code, Translations, Keywords, and Attachments tabs.
The following fields are available when defining an InfoCenter Entry on the InfoCenter tab:
Field | Description |
---|---|
InfoCenter Entry | This is the category code value which represents the InfoCenter. It will change if the InfoCenter's category is renamed. |
Active | The entry must be marked active in order to be used. Inactive entries will not appear as alerts, or when catalog information is requested. |
Description | This is a short description of the entry or its purpose. The length is limited to 40 characters. |
InfoCenter Type | It can be useful to categorize your entries by type when searching for entries. However, the value in this field does not limit the ways in which an entry can be used. It is for your reference only. |
Open | This determines how the InfoCenter window opens when this entry is displayed, either as an alert or suggested entry.
|
Experience Level | This is used when this InfoCenter entry will be used as part of a Suggested Response. Sometimes you will only want to display the information to less experienced users and assume that your more experienced users are already familiar with the information. This setting allows you to control the level of user for whom this entry will automatically pop as a suggested response. Any user whose experience level is equal to or lower than the level indicated here can receive a pop-up with this entry. Any user whose experience level is higher than the value indicated here will not receive this entry as an automatic pop-up. (Remember that with experience levels, 1=high and 9=low.) Setting the value to 1 will cause the entry to pop for all users. |
Text Entry Box | This is where you type the InfoCenter text. You can use the Editor toolbar to include special formatting (such as hyperlinks, font colors, size, bold, and emojis). See Creating a Paragraph Using the Editor for more information on the using toolbar. |
