Configuration: Email

The settings on this screen affect how Emplifi Agent handles outbound email.

Inbound email is handled through a separate configuration of type Email Service. For information on inbound email, see Email Service: Inbound Mail Server.

Field	Description
Email Server	Enter the machine name or IP address of the outbound mail server.
Email Outbound Type	Select the outbound type of "SMTP" or "Graph". Different fields options will display based on your selection.

Fields for SMTP

Field	Description
SMTP Server Port	Enter the port number for sending mail via SMTP. The standard port number is 25.
SMTP User	If specified, the value will be used as the email user when connecting to the SMTP server. If left blank, an anonymous connection will be used.
SMTP Password	This value is the email password to use when connecting to the SMTP server.
Test	Click the Test button to test the connection for the configuration you are viewing. When you click Test, the Test SMTP Email Message window will display for you to enter the recipient's email address and to type a message.
Use SSL	If selected, an SSL connection will be made with the SMTP server.
Default Sender	Enter an email address to use as the default "From" address when creating an outbound email. This will only be used if there is no email sender defined for the specific letter type in question (see below). When transferring a case, if the user does not have a defined email address, (E-Mail field in the General Settings section on page System User Codes) the "From" field defaults to the value in this field. You can specify a sender in either of the following formats: Address Only: mailuser@host.com Address with Name: Display Name <mailuser@host.com>
Default Subject	Enter text to be used as the default subject when creating an outbound email. If you would like to have the case ID automatically included as part of the text, you can include the special insert "[case.case_id]" anywhere in the field (for example, "Regarding Case # [case.case_id]"). This field is also used when sending emails during batch fulfillment if there is no subject specified on the letter on the case.
Support VERP addressing	Variable Envelope Return Paths (VERP) is a special form of email addressing where you can modify the sender field to reflect a customized entry that your email server intercepts when a message bounces. This allows bounced messages (usually due to an invalid recipient address) to be returned to a special location or mailbox. Dedicated personnel can manually review the messages to determine the issue and how to resolve it. Select this option to allow VERP. You should only select this option if your email servers have been properly configured to support VERP addressing.

Fields for Graph

Field	Description
Graph Outbound Client ID	Enter the client ID for the Graph Outbound configuration.
Graph Outbound Client Secret: Edit	Click Edit and enter the email password to use when connecting to Graph.
Graph Outbound Client Secret: Test	Click the Test button to test the connection for the Graph configuration you are viewing.
Graph Outbound Mailbox	Enter an email address for the outbound mailbox. The email address you enter here must be entered in the Default Sender and Email Sender fields.
Graph Outbound Tenant Id	Enter the tenant ID for the Graph Outbound configuration.
Default Sender	Enter the same email address that was entered in the Graph Outbound Mailbox field. When transferring a case, if the user does not have a defined email address, (E-Mail field in the General Settings section on page System User Codes) the "From" field defaults to the value in this field. Email Senders

This section allows you to define a default sender address for individual letter type codes. For details about letter type codes, see Defining Letter Type Codes.

For example, you may want different senders (and thus reply-to addresses) depending on the nature of the letter or based on internal department associated with the letter.

To add a new sender, click the New Email Sender button on the Function Bar.

This feature only applies to outbound mail sent using SMTP (Email Engine = "CDO"). If you are using MAPI, see the option labeled "Use Letter Type Code as MAPI Profile." If you are using Graph, you must use the email address that displays in the Graph Outbound Mailbox field.

Email Subject Defaults

When a user attempts to email a letter to a customer, the default subject is determined in the following order:

If there is a subject defined on the letter, that value will be used.
If there is a subject defined in the user's configuration, that value will be used.
If there is no subject defined either on the letter or in the configuration, a default value of "RE: Your Comment/Question" will be used.

The user can always modify the subject before sending the email; the value entered is simply a default.
