Utilities Overview
Emplifi Agent includes several utilities for performing a wide range of tasks.
Many of the utilities follow the same basic pattern:
Options allow you to enter specific details on how you want the utility to operate. The options are different for each utility and are discussed in the topic for each individual utility.
Filters allow you to specify criteria for selecting or limiting the cases or issues that the utility will process or affect. Filters, when present, tend to work the same for each utility. For more information, see Filters in Emplifi Agent.
Results, in most cases, displays a link to the log file for the utility. In some cases, the results view provides additional functionality. Any such functionality is discussed in the topic for the individual utilities.
Some utilities have additional views allowing you to further affect how the utility operates. That information is covered in the specific section for the individual utilities.
Saving to Favorite
If you have a particular utility that you use on a regular basis with similar or identical options, you can set up the utility options and then save it as a favorite. For more information, see Favorites Overview.
Running a Utility
You can run a utility by clicking the Run button on the banner. In some cases, clicking the Results view will also cause the utility to run.
Viewing Results
The Results tab shows the generated utility results. The Results page banner includes navigation buttons and fields, which allow you to narrow the records displayed on the page. When you select the Results tab, the banner will display on the upper, right side of the page.
The following table describes the options on the banner.
Icon | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
First Page | Click this button to display the first page of results. | |
Previous Page | Click this button to display the previous page of results. For example, if you are on page 4 of 8 when you click this button, page 3 will display and the banner will show you are on page 3 of 8. | |
Page M of N | Shows the currently displayed page and the total number of pages in the results. If you type a page number in the field, the screen will show the results for that page. | |
Next Page | Click this button to display the next page of results. For example, if you are on page 4 of 8, when you click this button page 5 will display. The banner will show you are on page 5 of 8. | |
Last Page | Click this button to display the last page of results. For example, if there are 8 pages of results, page 8 is shown. | |
Items per page | Select the number of records on each page. You can select up to 500 records per page. The default can be set for each utility. This number is saved on the local machine. |
Results Language
Most reports and utilities now include an option labeled "Results Language." You can select a Language ID defined in your system. Any translatable elements that appear in the results will appear in the selected language (if your administrator has defined the necessary translations).
Utility Log Files
The Results view for most utilities displays a link to a log file that is generated by running the utility. The log file is also opened automatically so that you can view it immediately.
The log file contains information about the result of the process, such as success or failure information, the number of records affected, and any problems that may have been encountered.
Each time the utility is run, it appends to the same log file. Therefore, the information from the most recent run always displays at the end of the file.
