Migration Rules
Migration rules allow data to automatically enter into one or more fields when certain values are entered into another field. The data is said to be "migrated" from one location to the other. Emplifi Agent allows you to migrate data on a case and on a survey.
Basic Migration Rules Tasks
To view and modify migration rules:
In Administration, select Company Setup > Data Entry / Validation Rules > Migrations and Dependent Codes.
To add a new migration rule:
From the Migrations and Dependent Codes screen, click the New Migration button.
On the left side of the window, select the Source category. This is the category that is said to "drive" the value in the dependent field. You can either enter the name of the category directly or select it from the browse hierarchy located beneath the field.
Rule based migrations cannot use a default code (such as Resp. Rep) as the source code.
In the right side of the window, select the Target category. This is the code that will automatically receive its value based on the value in the Source category.
Click the OK button. You will be taken to the migration rule definition screen.
To edit an existing migration rule:
From the Migrations and Dependent Codes screen, double-click on the code in the table that you want to edit.
OR
Select the code in the Function Bar that you want to edit.
To delete an existing migration rule:
From the Migrations and Dependent Codes screen, select the codes in the table that you want to delete.
Click the Delete button on the banner. You will be asked to confirm the deletion.
