Import Forms Overview

Many companies choose not to give out direct email addresses to customers. Instead, they provide Web-based forms that customers can fill in and submit. The contents of these forms are then sent to special email addresses behind the scenes.

The advantages to using Web forms over direct email include:

• They are less likely to get on spam lists because the actual email addresses aren't published.

• They provide better control over the information that must be supplied by the customer in order to submit the message. Messages are less likely to have incomplete or useless information.

• The information is more easily processed by automated systems such as Emplifi Agent.

In Emplifi Agent, an Import Form defines the information that will be found on an email sent from a Web form. It tells the system how to locate the appropriate information, and where that information should be placed on a case.
