Event Schedules
When you click the Set Schedule button on the Events tab, you will be presented with a dialog that allows you to modify the schedule for the selected event. For more information, see Defining Events.
Recurrence
You can choose from an event that runs daily, weekly, or monthly. (Events can run every few seconds; this is controlled through the frequency settings.)
If you choose daily, you must select how many days to skip between events.
If you choose weekly, you must decide how many weeks to skip between events and the specific days of the week on which you want to run.
If you choose monthly, you can either run on specific day of the month (1 to 31), or on a relative day such as "The last Friday of every month." If you choose to run on a specific day, be careful not to use a number greater than 28, because the event will be skipped on months that have fewer than the specified number of days. In this case, you probably want to set up a relative day such as "The Last day of every month."
Frequency
On the days which the event is scheduled to run, you must decide whether the event should run once at a specific time, or at regular intervals throughout the day.
If you choose to run at intervals, you can indicate not just the interval, but also the start and end times during the day.
Duration
The duration determines the start and end date for the event. The event will never run outside of the dates you indicate. It is most common to set up events with no end date.
The start date you choose could affect the recurrence settings. For example, if you have selected a daily recurrence with "every third day," the event will not run for the first time three days from today, but rather three days from the specified start date. (If that date falls more than three days in the past, then the system will calculate the next run date as if the event had been run every three days since the indicated start date.)
