This screen contains settings which affect the behavior of MessageCenter.

Field

Description

Delete Messages in Inbox Older than

Enter the number of days to retain messages in each user's MessageCenter inbox. Only messages that have been read are automatically deleted; unread messages will be retained indefinitely.

(info) There is not a separate process that handles the deletion. A check is performed each time users open their inbox, and old messages are deleted prior to the message list being displayed.

Priority of Batch Exception Messages

This setting dictates the priority setting that will be assigned to messages sent when there is an exception during batch processing. The default is 2.

Priority of Enclosure Approval Messages

This setting dictates the priority setting that will be assigned to messages sent for Case Enclosure Approvals. The default is 2.

Experience Level to Pop High Priority Message

Determines whether priority messages arriving at the client cause a standard (pop-up) alert, or the non-intrusive silent alert.

This setting works in conjunction with the Experience Level setting on each of the System User Codes. If a user's experience level is equal to or lower than this setting, that user will get standard alerts. If the user's experience level is higher than this setting, that user will receive silent alerts.

(info) A setting of 1 forces all clients to get a standard alert, while a setting of 10 will cause all clients to get silent alerts.
