Reports Overview
Emplifi Agent includes reports covering a variety of different purposes. The reports have a great degree of flexibility and can be customized to suit many different situations and needs.
Most of the report windows follow the same basic pattern, and include the following views:
Options: An Options screen allows you to specify specific details on how you want the report to operate. The options are different for each report and are discussed in the topic for each individual report.
Filters: A Filters screen allows you to specify criteria for selecting or limiting the cases or issues that will be included in the report results. When present, filters tend to work basically the same for each report. For information, refer to Filters in Emplifi Agent.
Results: The Results view shows the generated report.
Some reports have additional views, allowing you to further affect the report data selection, appearance, and output. That information is covered in the specific section for the individual reports.
Saving as Favorite
Frequently used reports can be saved as a favorite. For more information, see Favorites Overview.
Running a Report
You can run a report either by clicking the Run Report button, or by simply selecting the Results view in the Report window's navigator.
If you run the report once and go back and change the options, selecting the Results view again will cause the system to prompt you asking whether you wish to view the old data, or to re-run the report with the new options.
Running in Background
If you want to run a report as a one-time job without saving it as a favorite, you can run it in the background. Simply, click the Run in Background button on the report banner. You may also open a report saved as a Favorite, modify the fields, and run the report in the background without changing the saved Favorite.
The Run in Background option is available for the Case Listing, Frequency, and SQL reports.
Viewing Results
The Results tab shows the generated report results. The Results page banner includes navigation buttons and fields, which allow you to narrow the records displayed on the page. When you select the Results tab, the banner will display on the upper, right side of the page.
The following table describes the options on the banner.
Icon | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
First Page | Click this button to display the first page of results. | |
Previous Page | Click this button to display the previous page of results. For example, if you are on page 4 of 8 when you click this button, page 3 will display and the banner will show you are on page 3 of 8. | |
Page M of N | Shows the currently displayed page number and the total number of pages in the results. If you type a page number in the field, the screen will show the results for that page. | |
Next Page | Click this button to display the next page of results. For example, if you are on page 4 of 8, when you click this button page 5 will display. The banner will show you are on page 5 of 8. | |
Last Page | Click this button to display the last page of results. For example, if there are 8 pages of results the banner will show page 8 of 8. | |
Items per page | Select the number of records on each page. You can select up to 500 records per page. The default can be set for each report. This number is saved on the local machine. |
When you view the Results tab, the Send Email button will display on the report banner. Clicking this button will display the New Message window, which allows you to send the results one time through an email. For more information, see Adding a New Message.
Results Language
Most reports and utilities now include an option labeled "Results Language." You can select a Language ID defined in your system. Any translatable elements that appear in the results will appear in the selected language, if your administrator has defined the necessary translations.
Saving Reports
If you have a particular report that you want to run on a regular basis, you can set up the report options and then save the report as a favorite. For information, see Creating Favorites.
Sharing Report Results
Report results are often stored in a file format (such as .pdf or .xls) in the Emplifi Agent Results folder. There may be times when you want a coworker or manager to view these results, in those cases you can send them a direct link (for example, http://myserver/mysite/Results/reportname_YYYYMMDD_##.log
) to the file which is shown on the Results view. When this direct link is accessed, the system prompts for a valid Emplifi Agent username and password. When the login credentials are validated, the file is displayed. If the login credentials are incorrect, you will receive a message denying access.
