Chart Report - Results View
The Results view of the Chart Report has several special capabilities that are not available in other reports. These are designed to allow you to easily perform further analysis on the report data by breaking it down and comparing different "What if" scenarios.
The information in this topic only applies if the report output type is set to "Web page." Other output types do not have interactive capabilities. For more information, see Report Output Types.
Drill Down
You can drill down on many chart elements by simply clicking on the element. For example, on a bar graph that has a column for each month, clicking on a month column heading will show you a new result set for that month broken down by week.
Results History and Navigation
Each time you drill-down, change levels, or change the report options and run a new report, a new set of results are added on the report window.
The Results view has both a Back button and a Forward button. These work similarly to the navigation buttons in a standard browser window. The system automatically keeps a history each time you move to a different results view in the navigator. You can use the Back and Forward buttons to traverse this history.
When Data Is Refreshed
Each time a new result set is created, fresh data is obtained from the server. This means that if any data that affects the report output was added or changed since you ran the report, the new result set may be slightly different from the original. However, the original data does not change unless you use the Run button.
If you use the Run button, only the data for the currently displayed result set is refreshed. Other results are unchanged.
One exception is that all result sets share the same set of display options. For example, if you change the options from a bar graph to a pie graph, all the results will now appear as pie graphs.
Saving and Emailing Chart Images
From time to time you may want to send the generated image of a chart report to another user via email or attach it to another document (such as for a presentation).
To save or email a chart image:
On the Options view, set the View As field to an image format, such as PNG or JPEG.
Click the Run button to run the report.
The URL of the image file is displayed as the Result.
Click to open the image in a new tab.
Right-click the image and select Save image as.
Save the image to use in another application (such as Word or an email message).
The saved image is a "snapshot" of the chart; it will not have all the drill-down and navigation capabilities that you get by viewing the chart in Emplifi Agent.
